    Assuming you are referring to a Lenders Foreclosure… In California, The Homestead Exemption does not protect the Homeowner against Lender foreclosure of Real Estate. The San Diego County (as do most other County Web Sites in California) Assessors Office maintains this basic Q & A section on Homestead Exemptions:
