The homeowners will be given the opportunity to put the foreclosure process on pause for 90 days while the lenders look for a way to make the mortgage more affordable. It doesn’t pay them off like McCain’s plans call for, so I am happy with that…..it allows many more to stay in their homes, without costing US 300 billion more dollars.

Too little too late, even if he is elected he still isn’t in power until January 20th and all those people will have already lost their houses.

I think it’s more of the government exercising power and control they don’t have. And is one of the primary reasons people are so angry right now. We have a government that thinks they can do as they please..

Good plan to help those in the middle class get out of the hole that the GOP created.

Nothing illegal about it, it’s an attempt to try and help people being hurt by the home foreclosure crisis. After 8 years of being bent over and told to squeal by the U.S. Government, I can see why you would be so skeptical of an attempt to help us.

I can’t see how anyone can think giving someone a chance to maybe save their home is a bad thing.
I agree that people should be held accountable for taking out loans they could not afford. But another thing that also happened with this is Mortgage Brokers did not explain the loans to the people correctly.
I think McCain’s plan to buy out all the bad mortgages is a disaterous idea and will be a nightmare.

No, he is asking banks to do this, he is asking for a federal moratorium and for banks to go along with this.

Is it a bad idea? Very possibly, but it wont change anything for those who are continually delinquent on their bills. You’ll just be evicted in 120 days rather than 90 days.

Its not “illegal” to propose anything in this country so long as you aren’t threatening someone or something in the process.

I think it is a very good idea! Is it good to toss out the people who live in a house when there is not Credit Enough To Buy? It’s a great Idea, unfortunately Obama is running for President! GW never has gave a DAMN about us, the real people living here! Soooo does this have a chance? No Way! It might Interfere with his Personal POCKETBOOK!!!!!!!!

In effect this would violate the constitution by in effect having the government seize 90 days worth of interest revenue.

Look at it this way - what would you think if you lent somebody money and the government told you he could keep it an extra 90 days after he fell into foreclosure?

In effect Obama want to give people 90 days free rent at the expense of the mortgage companies.
