Would that help?

It would allow that much time for everyone to work toward a solution.

We can not do that because it would help out the little guy and we must only help out the big guy.

Yeah, but the government wouldn’t be able to screw us over on money that easily. They’ll never do it. I wish they would.

How about telling these people to stop spending and start paying their mortgage instead? It is all about priorities.
In some tragic cases, people have fallen ill or have lost their jobs. They are the ones that need assistance and it should be decided on a case-by-case basis.

That would not help at all! It would mean that mortgage lenders would have to subsidize the payments of people who refused to pay their bills. The lenders would then pass the cost on to other borrowers in the form of higher interest rates. The lenders would have less money to lend to other borrowers- which would lead to less investment, fewer home sales and a worsening economy!

Edit: To the person that gave me the thumbs down- I assume you bought a home you couldn’t afford and now you are being foreclosed on- AND you want someone else to foot the bill for your stupid mistake?

If you got a mortgage you cannot afford and cannot pay, maybe you should be foreclosed on? Should we just give hand outs to people who cannot pay their mortgage? I pay mine on time every month and what do I get? The shaft.

simply because above the doted line does not specify. It does specify that if you don’t pay, you don’t play and your home will be taken away.

It was agreed and signed by “responsible” people. Just because we are americans that does not take away the “responsibility”

Lost your job get another one. its not the end of the world. there are no companies to work for. make one and quit the wining.
