Ok. There’s this house for sale. It’s worth about $50,000 more than what they are asking. It is a foreclosure. I searched public records and it appears in the sales record that a bank aquired the property back in January and the price that is listed is about $20,000 less than the appraisal which is the same amount the first owner purchased the home for. Is that price that is listed where the bank took it back the amount owed on the mortgage and the amount they are wanting now?

I made an offer on the house for about $10,000 over asking but that’s still $15,000 less than what the bank got the property for. Did I offer too little? There are already multiple offers on the house. Did they price it so low just to get attention?
But wouldn’t people be more apt to offering $20,000 over asking just because they knew they’d still be getting the house at $30,000 below appraisal or something? I mean would someone offer that much more knowing the asking price was what it is? I figured someone would see this as an easy money making opportunity and blow my offer out of the water.
It’s not being sold by the bank though.. An actual realty company is handling it. Sorry.. these questions might sound dumb but it’s the first offer I’ve ever made … This would be my first house.

I would like to know if there is a website or service available that I can view past foreclosures sales within the last 2 years preferable the state of Texas but any info will help. I would need to know the amount that was owed at time of foreclosure and the price the home finally sold for. Any help would be very helpful…Thanks…
P.S. I have had no luck with my local county clerks office either…

I know there are alot of home owners with subprime loans that purchased more home than they can really afford. Many of those loans are resetting at rates these people can’t afford. Is there a list of home that are about to be or are currenlt in foreclosure? Is there a free database with this info?

My husband and I would really like to get into buying foreclosed, pre-foreclosed, and hud houses to flip them. The problem is- we already have a mortgage and only have about 10K in the bank. I’ve heard that you have to have cash to buy auctioned homes. Are there foreclosed homes you can get a loan for? I’m just learning about this so any advice about how we can finance this would be greatly appreciated.

I compiled a list of foreclosures off realtytrac.com and I am doing a demographic study of the affected zip code. The web site differentiates between the following terms:

Pre-foreclosure; Auction; Bank-owned; FSBO; Resale

Any knowledge at what determines the housing status would be greatly appreciated, it doesnt have to be too detailed, I just want to be able to filter what I need.
