My boyfriend’s mom is a real estate agent and often tells him about houses up for foreclosure since he’s looking to buy. It never fails that within a couple days of the house going on the market, there are 15 or more offers already and it’s too late to bid on it! How can he (or his mom) find out when these houses are going to go on the market? There are so many of them in Michigan where I live - it seems unfair - like insiders are finding out about them before they are even on the market!

How do they explain the record mortgage foreclosures and still rising for those people? and how do they explain that certain regions or certain major cities of the USA have way more foreclosures than others?

For those for whom my question is not clear enough, I am referring to people who got regular A paper non subprime mortgages who did not lie or pad their assets and played by the rules and got regular fixed rate mortgages etc.. who are still losing their homes in record numbers.

We have been renting a new townhome in Miami, FL since September. We believe the home will go under foreclosure before the lease is up due to mortgage fraud on the part of our landlord. We’re not sure what to do now except sit and wait, which is really unsettling! How many payments must the owner miss before the house goes into foreclosure? (Our owner missed two payments so far — we get the notices!) What are our rights as renters? How much notice will we get if the lease is not honored?

Isn’t this OUR job? Foreclosures a good way for lower income families to buy a home, a boon to a lagging economy, a way for some of us to invest in our future. Why is government getting involved? There are more important issues than someone overextending themselves.
