It is my opinion that because so many people are defaulting on their mortgages, they are probably defaulting on other loans in order to try to keep their homes.

If a high percentage of Americans have bad credit, then will the financial industry have to lower the standards for credit in order to continue making loans/money????
I worked in the mortgage industry until recently and am aware that lending practices are becoming stricted because of the abundance of foreclosures. But eventually these companies are going to feel the effects of these recent changes and will have to offer subprime mortgages or lower the standards if they want to stay in business.

I am in Wisconsin and I have been looking into buying a house. Since we don’t have a lot of money right now being colege students. My boyfriends dad has bought foreclosures before and it seems like its a good investment for the most part.

We have no idea what we are doing and would love some advice. It seems like we get different answers from everyone.

It seems like having a realtor would be best for us just so we have someone else to help us out.

This is just all so confusing for us.

Wouldn’t those companies make more money if they allowed everyone to keep their house and just lower their payment to something more affordable? Not only would they still be getting some money it would help the mortgage crisis. Correct me if i’m wrong.

I don’t have a lot of money to make large monthly payments but I would rather own then rent. So, I was thinking of purchasing a home that is in foreclosure because the monthly payments will be affordable since the dollar amount is lower. Can something like that really be done?
